NORTH CAROLINA - 2010 TOP STATE BUSINESS CLIMATE

NORTH CAROLINA - 2010 LOWEST STATE & LOCAL TAX BURDEN ON BUSINESS

A March 2010 study prepared by Ernst & Young and the Council on State Taxation (COST) revealed that North Carolina had the lowest total effective business tax rate ("TEBTR") based on "detailed, state-by-state estimates of the state and local taxes paid by businesses for fiscal year 2009."  Total State and Local Business Taxes - a report by Ernst & Young and the Council on State Taxation, March 2010.
